Improvement Works – Carnagill Community Primary School
New Roofing, Asbestos Removal, And General Refurbishment
Ongoing Improvement Works
Client: Dales Academies Trust
This work involved stripping and renewing 1,400m2 of roofing to various buildings at the school in Catterick using an insulated garland system.
We carried out initial asbestos removal, replaced external windows and doors, carried out external decoration and replaced the high-level cladding with white UPVC. We also refurbished the flooring in the classrooms, and the playgrounds and play area. Path and ramps were upgraded, and we provided new fencing and gates.
In a nursery area the ceiling required strengthening for the new insulated roofing system. So, we stripped suspended ceilings, lighting, and insulation, and provided new structural timbers to complete the ceiling area. A new suspended ceiling and modern LED lighting system were installed to create a new learning environment.
This project had 2 phases. In the second, we removed asbestos panels and installed suspended ceilings and a modern LED lighting system. New internal doors will also be provided and the school redecorated. In addition, we are refurbishing the canteen kitchen and installing new fire alarms.
